Jeremy Kane Memorial 2021

Rutgers-Camden Veterans! 
 
Please join us on Friday, August 6th at 7:30am on-campus at the Jeremy Kane Memorial to cheer on the NYC Navy Seal Swim and William Brown Jr., A double Rutgers-Camden alum and Veteran, as they recognize Jeremy Kane, first responders, Vietnam veterans, and fallen heroes. The annual NYC Navy Seal Swim honors and remember 9/11 and our veterans and fallen heroes (https://gigo.org/) with a swim in NYC. Jeremey Kane was a member of Veterans for Education and was killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan in January 2010.
 
The Friday event will involve a small contingent of Navy Seals in Camden NJ.
 
On the morning of August 6th, alumnus William Brown, Jr. will be leading a contingent of NYC Navy SEAL swimmers to Camden, NJ: 
 
1. Giving Jeremy Kane a pushup salute at his memorial at the Rutgers-Camden campus at 7:30 am.
 
2. Following a salute to Jeremy Kane, a short (two block) flag run (formation slow jog /BUD/s shuffle) to Cooper University Hospital at 8:30 am where we will be giving a thank you and a pushup salute to all the Doctors, Nurses and all those in the medical field.
 
3. Following our salute at Cooper University Hospital we will we finish our flag run at the Battleship New Jersey which will include a gun salute on the battleship.
